About this piece:

This drawing was created with the theme of "isolation" in mind. During times of intense isolation people often turn to religion for comfort or guidance. Sometimes though that “guidance” comes in the form of visions or hearing God. At that point, is it comfort? Or are these people hallucinating from being alone for so long? Is it God speaking to them, or is it some kind of madness?

As an Atheist living in the Bible belt, that alone can feel very isolating. That is why I turned this into a self-portrait specifically. The disconnect I feel from other people has made me feel a different kind of isolation.
